CONVENTIONS CHALLENGED

Editing

We made our opening title sequence quite different to most. Other films consist of lots of long and slow clips whereas most of our clips are short and fast. This in parts was very effective as our sequence is all about the protagonist being confused and by adding quick clips shows she cannot remember much. However, in other cases these were not helpful as there wasn't many places to put our title credits in as the clips were too short and there wasn't enough time for the audience to read them. Because of this, we had to reshoot some clips to make some long enough to use which was easy.

To make our film more effective, we added many flashbacks within it to show the protagonist's thoughts. We do this by making them quick and having white backgrounds flash briefly before and after. By doing this, it shows that she is confused and cannot remember long things. Throughout the whole thing, there is also never any words which ended up working well as it still shows the atmosphere without any narrative. Most of it shows things from 'Lilly Adams'' point of view.

Credits

Like I said before, originally our clips were really not long enough at all so we had to film many other videos. For example, we reshooted all of our flashbacks as they were far too quick to add any titles on them. We shooted them in my kitchen and added many cans of alcohol and mixing drinks to make it completely clear to the audience where the flashbacks are supposed to be from.
